Linda Havrlíková Czech sheep wool transparency

Exclusively Czech wool and Czech production

The reason why the vast majority of wool originating from European countries is not processed is that it faces competition from fine Merino wool , which is imported from non-European destinations and is also much cheaper in the context of large-scale production. Merino wool products are very popular with wearers, but the acquisition of raw materials for their production is largely bought by an exploitative approach to resources. (Unfortunately, the textile and fashion industry in general is connected to this). In order to make breeding more efficient and regularly shear wool for the commercial wool industry, many unethical treatments are applied to animals. Widespread applications of medications, causing resistance, and the context of large-scale farming disrupt the biodiversity of the given environment.

Wool from European local farms is mostly obtained as a secondary raw material. Sheep are kept in smaller flocks mainly for meat, milk or grazing. Close contact between the customer and the sheep farmer , which is possible due to the short distance, can guarantee a correct and individual approach to individual animals throughout the year. Processing local sources of wool supports local industry and reduces significant pollution from the transport industry in the production chain.

The Linda Havrlíková brand is proud that all its fleece comes from the wool of Czech sheep. The origin of the wool is easily traceable, and close contact with the breeder shows how he approaches the wool itself and his flock of sheep all year round. We are happy to see his efforts and believe that this overall joy can be felt in our product range.   The wool product travels to you with a fully transparent supply chain and completely local production . Our effort is to support the processing of Czech sheep wool in the local textile industry.
