Linda Havrlíková Czech sheep wool
Wool fleece 360 g/m2

Wool fleece made from the wool of Czech sheep, ready for further use. Sold by the metre

for creative and artistic projects. This variant is suitable as an ecological filling for garments and quilted blankets.

A fluffy and lightweight option, ideal for quilted blankets. We recommend using at least two layers. The fleece is 140 cm wide, corresponding to the width of a standard blanket. Its structure contains many air pockets, which provide excellent insulation. We recommend occasionally removing the wool insert from the bedding cover and leaving it spread out for some time before putting it back. Ideally, place it by an open window during rainy weather, or outdoors under shelter. The wool absorbs moisture from the air, refreshes itself and regains its shape. The fibre continues to work and will remain as good as new.

How to use the fleece in clothing

The wool is processed using carding technology, and the naturally protruding fibre ends may begin to irritate the skin of sensitive people through the garment during wear. When incorporating wool into a quilted garment, it is best to use it in a so-called “sandwich” — placing it between two densely woven or membrane fabrics. Because sheep’s wool processed without chemicals continues to breathe, I also recommend using natural fabrics for this “sandwich” construction.

This does not apply to interior textile products, where the fleece can be used according to your creativity.

Contains plant matter, which is a sign of gentle wool processing.

Care:

Wool fleece from Czech sheep that has already been sewn into your unique products should be aired regularly and refreshed with steam. Unprocessed fleece should also be aired regularly.

Minor stains on fleece sewn into products can be gently dampened locally and hand-washed using gall soap or an ecological wool detergent. The water temperature must not exceed 25–30°C. After washing, do not wring. Instead, gently press the fleece between your palms to release the water. It can also be washed on an extra-gentle washing machine cycle — the symbol with the tub underlined twice, at a maximum of 30°C. Lay the product flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight, and allow it to dry thoroughly.

If the product needs to be smoothed, place a damp cloth (soaked and wrung out) over the fabric and press gently with an iron. Do not iron directly; simply press and lift.

In case of heavy soiling, take the product to a professional dry cleaner experienced in the gentle chemical cleaning of Czech wool materials.

The Linda Havrlíková brand takes pride in the fact that all of its wool fleece comes from Czech sheep. The origin of the wool is fully traceable, and close contact with the shepherd offers an insight into how he cares for the wool itself and his flock of sheep throughout the year.
