Because sheep and their fleeces naturally vary, the wool may differ slightly from the photographs shown. It may contain natural plant matter such as grass or hay. These traces are a sign of gentle processing.
This wool meets the requirements for further machine processing.
Fibre characteristics
- Merinolandschaf – 25–29 microns. Wool suitable for spinning.
- Romney – 27–35 microns. Average fibre length: 10–20.5 cm. A very pleasant and popular spinning wool thanks to its length and natural crimp. The resulting yarn is soft and lofty. Also very suitable for wet or needle felting.
- East Friesian sheep – 28–33, up to 37 microns. Average fibre length: 7.5–15 cm.
- Clun Forest – 28–33 microns. Average fibre length: 7.5–10 cm. The fibre is rather short for spinning, but it is excellent for felting and other creative techniques.
- Texel – 29–35 microns. Average fibre length: 7.5–15 cm.
- Ouessant sheep – 30–38 microns. Average fibre length: 8.5–10 cm.
